Cosplay Club proudly hosts a wide range of events across South Australia from smaller movie and making nights at local libraries, to Kingdom shattering Royal Ball’s hosting 200+ people. Every event is designed to bring cosplayers and the public together in a fun and inclusive environment that showcases South Australia’s passion for unique and new events.
Wail at the Gaol
In October 2025, Cosplay Club proudly partnered with the historic Adelaide Gaol for their annual Halloween spectacular, Wail at the Gaol! This thrilling collaboration transformed one of Adelaide’s oldest landmarks into a living nightmare; a haunting blend of history, creativity, and pure Halloween fun.
Cosplay Club volunteers helped bring the experience to life, with members taking part as set crafters and scare actors. Over two days of workshops, teams built eerie sets, crafted chilling props, and prepared immersive scenes throughout the Gaol’s cellblocks. Then, on the night itself, our scare actors stepped into their roles to terrify and delight brave visitors exploring the haunted halls.
From witch’s kitchens and enchanted forests to ghostly corridors and echoing chambers, guests tested their nerves as they wandered through the darkened grounds. Outside, the Mugshot Canteen and food trucks served Halloween treats.
Wail at the Gaol 2025 was a hauntingly successful night filled with screams, laughter, and unforgettable moments. An incredible opportunity for volunteers to gain real-world creative experience and for the public to enjoy one of Adelaide’s most unique Halloween events.
Royal Ball
Held on 26 July 2025 at Woodville Town Hall, The Royal Ball transported guests into the enchanting Kingdom of Silverpeak for an unforgettable night of immersive storytelling, mystery, and dance. From the moment the royal guards opened the doors, attendees were swept into a live fantasy RPG experience where the King, Queen, and courtiers came to life before their eyes. What began as a joyous royal celebration soon spiralled into turmoil, leaving guests to uncover secrets, solve puzzles, and shape the fate of the kingdom through their choices.
As part of the festivities, guests enjoyed royal nibbles, a spread of canapés and desserts fit for a king, catered by T.E. Catering and Events, alongside themed drinks inspired by the far reaches of the realm. Throughout the night, royal photographers roamed the grand hall, capturing candid moments, reactions, and laughter, while the photobooth offered attendees a chance to pose for their own regal portraits.
Participants delved deep into the story by collecting tokens, competing for the legendary kingdom chest, and piecing together the mysteries of Silverpeak’s past. Every guest became part of the unfolding narrative, influencing alliances, uncovering secrets, and deciding the fate of the realm through their actions.
The Royal Ball was more than just a formal event. It was an immersive experience that blurred the line between performance and participation, leaving guests with magical memories, stunning photos, and stories to tell.
